Air Conditioning Bristol services and maintains air conditioning systems in homes and businesses across Bristol and the South West. Our F-Gas certified engineers look after every major brand, from a single wall-mounted unit in a bedroom to a multi-room system running a busy office.

A regular service keeps your system cooling and heating properly, stops small faults turning into expensive breakdowns and keeps the manufacturer’s warranty valid. If you would like a price, fill in the quote form and one of our engineers will get back to you within two hours.

What Is Included in an Air Conditioning Service?

Every service we carry out follows the same seven-point check. It covers the parts of the system that most often cause problems, both inside and outside the property.

  1. Refrigerant pressure check We test the R32 or R410A gas charge against the manufacturer’s figures and look for signs of a leak.
  2. Coil cleaning We clean the indoor evaporator coil and the outdoor condenser coil. Dirty coils can cut airflow by up to 30%.
  3. Filter clean and disinfection We clean or replace the filters and treat the indoor unit to remove bacteria, mould and allergens.
  4. Electrical checks We tighten terminals and test the capacitor, which helps protect the compressor from failure.
  5. Thermostat calibration We make sure the unit holds the temperature you set, to within half a degree.
  6. Drain flush We clear the condensate line so water cannot back up and leak from the indoor unit.
  7. Diagnostic report You receive a written summary of how the system is performing and anything that needs attention.

How Often Should Air Conditioning Be Serviced?

We recommend one service a year for home systems. Commercial systems that run for long hours, such as those in offices, shops, restaurants and server rooms, should be serviced twice a year.

Most manufacturers also make an annual service a condition of their warranty. If you miss it and the system develops a fault, the repair may not be covered. Larger commercial systems may also need regular leak checks under F-Gas rules, which we can include in your visits.

How Much Does an AC Service Cost in Bristol?

The simplest way to keep on top of servicing is with one of our maintenance plans. Each plan includes the full seven-point service, and the price is fixed for the year.

Domestic AC Care1 serviceFull 7-point service and priority bookingFrom £89
Commercial AC Standard2 servicesFull 7-point service and filter replacementsFrom £165

The final price depends on how many indoor units you have and how easy they are to reach. We will always confirm the cost before booking, with no hidden charges.

Why Regular AC Servicing Is Worth It

A system that is serviced every year simply works better and lasts longer. In our experience, regular maintenance:

  • Cuts electricity use by 15% to 25%, because a clean system does not have to work as hard
  • Reduces the risk of an emergency breakdown by around 70%
  • Adds 5 to 10 years to the working life of the system
  • Keeps the air in your home or workplace cleaner, which helps anyone with allergies
  • Keeps your manufacturer’s warranty valid

Signs Your Air Conditioning Needs a Service

If it has been more than a year since your last service, it is due. You should also book a visit sooner if you notice any of the following:

  • The air coming out is not as cold, or as warm, as it used to be
  • A musty or damp smell when the unit starts up
  • Water dripping from the indoor unit
  • New noises, such as rattling or buzzing
  • Higher electricity bills without any change in how you use the system

These problems are often fixed during a routine service. If we find a fault that needs more work, we will explain it and give you a fixed price before going ahead.

Servicing for Homes and Businesses

Home Air Conditioning

We service wall-mounted split units, multi-split systems and ducted systems in homes of every size, including systems we did not install ourselves. A home visit usually takes about an hour per indoor unit, and we leave everything clean and tidy. Most modern home units also provide heating, so a service before winter is a good idea as well as before summer.

Commercial Air Conditioning

For businesses, we service ceiling cassettes, ducted units and VRF systems in offices, shops, restaurants, gyms, clinics and warehouses. We can work early in the morning or after closing time to avoid disruption. We keep records of every visit, which helps landlords and facilities managers meet their maintenance and F-Gas obligations.

AC Servicing or AC Repair: What’s the Difference?

A service is planned maintenance, carried out while the system is still working, to keep it running well. A repair fixes a specific fault after something has gone wrong. Regular servicing makes repairs much less likely. If your system has already stopped working, our AC repair service offers same-day call-outs, with engineers on site within four hours on average.
